The original thermistor was broken out of the box. For some reason I kept thinking that something else was wrong and spent days troubleshooting. Finally ordered a replacement, plugged it in, and was instantly working connected to the max amplifier of my octopus pro (with the corresponding config for a pt1000). Do yourselves a favor and check phaetus thermistors with a multimeter before spending days troubleshooting.
