Bio-based PLA filament with finely ground shells
ByProducts PLA Shell is a sustainable PLA filament with finely ground shells from the recycling industry mixed in. The recycled material makes the filament more environmentally friendly and helps to promote the circular economy.
ByProducts PLA shell is made from 100% bio-based materials and contains no chemicals or industrial dyes.

Printing ByProducts PLA Shell
ByProducts PLA Shell is as easy to print as standard PLA. No heating bed is required for printing.
Note: The shell particles in the material are less than 250 microns in size to allow processing with stand-up nozzles. However, for regular or prolonged printing, a steel nozzle should be used to reduce nozzle and extruder wear.

Prints look excellent, surface is hard and the look is very boney. It looks and behaves very much like colorFabb Glowfill except it doesn't glow. Great for statues, miniatures, even mechanical fidgets. It is partly translucent, could be good for lithophanes as well.
But it clogs horribly and randomly. I printed half the roll without problems and since then, I wasn't able to finish a single print. Also, near the end of the roll, there were several tangles which made printing it even more difficult. Maybe it was just part of the roll and maybe it will work fine with 0.6mm nozzle, depending what caused the clog. When I unclogged the nozzle with a cold pull, or with a needle, what came out looked burnt - so maybe it's not due to particle size but because some organic remnant just burns and sticks to the inside of the nozzle. YMMV.
