Description
The affordable hot end for everyone!
Not everyone needs the all-metal high-temperature performance of an E3D-V6. We have found that a hotend is required that is reliable and delivers great prints, but meets the budget of those who are just starting to 3D print.
Lite6 is our answer to this need. By using a PTFE-lined “mostly metal” design, we can meet what we think is a reasonable price for a complete electronics kit.
Think of Lite6 as the little brother of V6: it's a cheaper hot end with a more modest specification, but it's still a great option for beginners and the price-conscious.
01. Ideal for everyday materials
Lite6 cannot offer the same high-temperature performance as E3D-V6, which means that you cannot print more powerful engineering plastics such as nylon, polycarbonate and ColorFabb Carbon-Fibre XT. The PTFE liner in Lite6 means that there is a temperature limit of 240 ° C.
Nevertheless, Lite6 targets standard materials such as ABS and PLA and produces really beautiful prints with outstanding reliability. The full-length PTFE liner gives you excellent performance even with flexible materials.
Lite6 has a slightly shorter effective melting zone than V6, which means that print speeds are slower but are still suitable for all 3D printers on the market except the fastest. If you need more speed, you can of course easily upgrade to Volcano or V6.
02. Reliable
The metal housing of Lite6 makes it incredibly robust. If you accidentally hit your Lite6 against a printout, there is virtually no chance that it will be damaged.
The stainless steel parts are incredibly heat-resistant and essentially cannot be damaged with the heating supplied. This means that if you heat your PTFE liner, you can quickly and easily replace it with a new one and make your Lite6 fully functional again.
We also reused as many parts from V6 and the rest of the E3D ecosystem as possible. The beautiful polycarbonate fan duct, the proven ball-bearing 30 mm fan. Above all, we use the same highly optimised nozzles and heating blocks. This means that we use proven V6 components to achieve excellent performance in the key areas of Lite6.
