DIAMANT Polymer dichtol AM UV Protection, 250 ml

You can impregnate additively manufactured components with the thin, polymer-based dichtol AM UV Protection from DIAMANT Polymer. The impregnating agent uses a thin, micrometre-sized protective layer to seal the components in a gas- and liquid-tight manner and protects them from the effects of harmful UV radiation.

The agent is temperature-resistant up to +200 °C and offers temporary corrosion protection.

Possible applications:

• Capillary-active deep impregnation of micropores, hairline cracks and porosities,
• Selective series impregnation,
• Individual impregnation of large components,
• Impregnation of rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing components,
• Sealing of porous graphite and ceramic components,
• Protection of surfaces against UV radiation.

Preparation and application

Before use, the pores that need to be sealed must be thoroughly cleaned of dirt and other disruptive substances.

⇒ Attention! Both surfaces that are too warm or too cold can have a negative impact on the effect or penetration behaviour of the product.

There are a few possible uses for dichtol AM UV Protection :

► Spraying:

Apply four times in 1-minute intervals in a cross pattern and keep moist for at least 5 minutes to allow the product to penetrate deep into the pores;

► Inject and fill:

Pour sealol into the desired space to be sealed and allow it to take effect for approx. 5 minutes; then pour off the excess material;

► Immersing:

Immerse the object to be sealed in sealing oil and remove it after approx. 5 minutes; drain the object thoroughly.

Tip: 3D printed components require different exposure and immersion times depending on the material and microstructure. In some cases, positive results are seen with repeated use of the waterproofing agent.
