BondTech Extruder Upgrade Kit for Creality CR-10 V2

This upgrade comes with the latest version of the Bondtech Mini Geared (BMG) extruder, which has a brass motor gearbox, a black POM main gearbox and a screw connector.

The Creality CR-10 V2 extruder kit uses Bondtech Dual Drive Gears to achieve additional thrust and resolution as well as a closer fit between gear and housing and to avoid jamming of the filaments.

Developed for the Creality3D CR-10 V2

This extruder upgrade kit is intended for the Creality CR-10 V2 and replaces the original feed. This kit does not contain a motor, the original motor is used.

Bondtech's Dual Drive performance

This kit provides a high-performance media feed system with the ability to print faster with improved quality. With the adjustable knurled screw you can finely adjust the force acting on the filament. It enables more reliable printing with all types of filaments, both stiff and flexible, and the DualDrive system ensures that the extruder never loses grip on the filament, making grinding and slipping a thing of the past.

Lower current recommended
Due to the gear ratio, the stepper motor can push the filament with such force that something can be damaged. To avoid such damage, we recommend reducing the stepper motor current to almost half of the original current. Read the step-by-step guide to learn how to do it.

Bowden solution

The Bowden tube is held securely in place by the integrated 4 mm industry-standard connector.

Reduction of filament jams

There is now a distance of almost 0.1 mm between the Bondtech gearwheels and the 3D-printed SLS housing, which prevents filaments from getting caught. An additional short PTFE tube is added between the extruder and the filament sensor to facilitate loading and unloading of the filaments.

SLS printed housing

The housing parts are professionally SLS 3D printed with polyamide for maximum strength and precision. Due to the somewhat higher geometry of the extruder, the max printable height is 390 mm.

Firmware update

The Creality3D firmware must be updated to use this upgrade kit. The E-steps must be updated to 415. You can find information on this in the step-by-step instructions.
In your slicer, it is also necessary to set the maximum Z height in the machine settings to 390 mm.
