Description
With the groundbreaking GammaMaster® nozzles, Slice Engineering presents its latest nozzle technology, which is the result of the latest developments in metallurgy and surface preparation. The nozzles were specially designed for printing with abrasive materials and ensure unbeatable thermal conductivity - without compromise!
Note: The GammaMaster FIN nozzles are currently only compatible with Mako™ hotends!
► What is FIN?
FIN stands for Free and open-source Insulated Nozzle , a new open-source nozzle standard introduced by Slice Engineering. The new concept aims to make the nozzles more thermally efficient through special insulation. The insulation helps to stabilise the temperature at the nozzle tip by minimising heat loss and maintaining a more consistent melt temperature. This can improve print quality, especially with demanding filaments that require stable temperatures.
A major advantage of the open standard is that every manufacturer can use the specifications and develop their own variants of the FIN nozzles for different print head systems. This increases the choice for users.
Thermal performance
GammaMaster® nozzles are made from a hardened alloy to combine the durability of an abrasion-resistant nozzle with the thermal efficiency of a traditional brass nozzle. Compared to standard brass nozzles, GammaMaster® nozzles have 2.7 times the thermal conductivity, meaning higher nozzle temperatures are no longer necessary when printing with abrasive materials.
Resistant to abrasion
The GammaMaster® nozzles can easily handle a wide range of materials. From everyday PLA to robust glass fibre reinforced PEI, this exceptional nozzle is a true all-rounder. Particularly impressive is its Rockwell C hardness of 63, which makes it an excellent choice for printing abrasive materials.
Non-stick surface
The nozzles feature Slice Engineering's innovative Low Gamma coating. This lowers the surface energy of the nozzle and prevents plastic from depositing on the nozzle tip and clogging the nozzle. With a surface energy of < 30 dynes/cm, the new coating can be cleaned effortlessly, which contributes to fewer printing errors and better printing performance.
The Low Gamma coating is also more resistant to high printing temperatures compared to PTFE coatings, which also gives them excellent non-stick properties. The coating can withstand temperatures of up to 380°C, while the nozzle substrate can also withstand temperatures of up to an incredible 500°C!
Further advantages at a glance:
- The Low Gamma coating is temperature resistant up to 380 °C, the nozzle substrate can withstand temperatures of up to 500 °C,
- Compatible with metric (6 mm) and standard (1/4 inch) sockets for easier installation,
- USA quality.
