Description
One nozzle for all requirements!
The Nozzle X is a "one to rule them all" solution, which was made from a special alloy made of structural steel. The nozzle is immensely hard, which maintains its hardness even at high temperatures without softening. The nozzle is coated with a hard and smooth layer of nickel to offer a fantastic balance between cost and wear resistance. The new polyphobic nano-coating no longer allows molten polymers to adhere to the nozzle!
The Nozzle X is the perfect combination of high-temperature resistance and wear resistance. By using a one-piece, completely machined construction, a carefully coordinated inner geometry was created that offers fantastic flow behaviour and has exactly the same geometry and compatibility as the rest of the E3D ecosystem.
Advantages of the WS2 polyphobic nano-coating:
- Less build-up on the nozzle cone
- Improved reliability of the first layer; The smooth coating has a reduced tendency to "pull" material.
- Smooth top layers with a glass-like finish due to the smooth material application
- Clean with a non-abrasive rag/cloth: A non-abrasive rag or cloth can be used to clean the exterior of the Nozzle X to remove any plastic residue that may have formed. Note: Paper towels are abrasive enough to damage the special coating.
Volcano nozzles
These nozzles are used with the Volcano block and the Volcano packs to print in large layer heights and with extremely high flow rates. Volcano nozzles are super-fast printing nozzles for use with the Volcano block and packs for printing large layer heights at extremely high flow rates. Volcanic nozzles have extra long heated melting zones for ultimate melting speeds. The internal geometry has been carefully designed to optimise flow and throughput and to ensure that the nozzle tip is the correct size to flatten particularly wide print marks

Great prints, but very sticky..

I'm printing with the nozzle for a few weeks now and the prints are looking great. The heat and flow are consistent with little error.
The only downside for me that my PolyTerra PLA sticks to it like a bear on honey.. Even my brass nozzles did not stick so much. Maybe my coating is faulty, but for such an expensive nozzle and non-stick advertising this disappoints me a little..
